Where you can either pay for the items yourself and then request reimbursement of those funds under your core budget through the NDIS;
Payment Request (Delayed)
Hear for Less will provide you with an invoice for the goods required, which you present to NDIS through the MyPlace Portal. The NDIS will assess the invoice, and subject to approval, pay the full invoice amount from your core budget directly into your account. This payment process can take 24 - 48 hours once you have raised the payment request.
Once those funds have cleared, you would then process your order through Hear for Less and your solutions will be sent directly to your address.
How to become Self Managed?
To become self-managed, you will need to contact the NDIS directly on 1800 800 110 to ask for your Level 1 Low Risk AT portion of your NDIS funds (generally up to $1021) to be released for Self Managed Funds.
If you require assistance with setting up your plan to cover these low-risk Level 1 AT (Assistive Technology) items then you can call NDIS or you can seek assistance with your Local Area Coordinator.
Where a 3rd party, (in this example) like an Occupational Therapist who is a Registered NDIS Provider, acts as a central point of contact for the participant. The 3rd partys' role is to act as a "go-between" for the NDIS, partipant (you) and the solution provider (Hear for Less)
All payments are completed by the NDIS to the solution provider through the 3rd party.
Where Hear for Less can directly process your solution with the NDIS once you, the participant, have completed your Service Booking, where you have nominated Hear for Less as your chosen provider through your MyPlace Portal on the NDIS website.
Hear for Less will process the request for payment, and once payment has cleared into our account, we will have the solution sent directly to your address.
Hear for Less can provide Agency Managed services for the following states within Australia. VIC, ACT, QLD, NT and soon WA.
If you are located within NSW or SA you can receive solutions from us through both Self and Plan Managed options.
Having a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) is a great way to facilitate your NDIS journey, and this service will give you a limited amount of hours of help, for free*
Here are the steps to finding an LAC convenient to your location
1. Click here or visit https://www.ndis.gov.au/
2. Select your state, under The NDIS In Your Area.
3. Click Local Area Coordination link in blue
4. Click on whichever partner delivering LAC services closest to your home
5. You will now be on your LAC's website where they have provided ways to get in contact with them.
*Free assistance is currently up to 10 hours per participant, however, could change at any time and is governed by NDIS and the LAC. Please let us know if this changes so that we can update these details.
