Security cameras are one of the best ways to keep yourself safe in your home. Not only do they allow you to keep an eye on your surroundings, but they also act as a deterrent for burglars, making thefts less likely.
Eufy is the child brand of the American company Anker Innovations. Their motto is “Smart Home Simplified” – and Eufy security cameras support this by offering their advanced wireless security camera systems that are simple to set up and use, for a wide variety of ages and abilities.
If you’re searching for a high-quality security camera that doesn’t require hardwiring, then look no further than Eufy wireless cameras. Offering crisp and clear HD recording, advanced night vision, and up to a year of battery life on a single charge, Eufy cameras can make your life simpler and safer.
One of the key benefits of the Eufy Home Base is how quick it is to set up. All you need is 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, a Eufy Home Base, and a smartphone running on iOS 11 or Android 5 to get the most out of this modern security solution.
Thanks to smart integration, EufyCam security cameras are compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit devices as well. This means you can control it from wherever you are in the house.
Once you connect your Eufy cameras and set up your account with the Eufy Security App, you’ll be able to receive real-time notifications straight to your smartphone whenever a person triggers the camera’s motion sensors. You can even speak to someone outside your home via two-way audio!
If all of that wasn’t enough, there are plenty more benefits for Eufy cameras to boast about.
The EufyCam isn’t just for spying, it also comes with a built-in floodlight and a 100dB siren for anti-theft protection. With the Eufy Security App, you can control and monitor the cameras from the app at any time, and get mobile alerts instantly.
Don’t worry, the wireless cameras won’t alert you every time a cat strolls by or a leaf gets in the way. Human recognition AI technology reduces annoying false alerts by only triggering your assigned actions when a Eufy security camera detects a human face and/or body.
With a 135° field of view diagonally, each camera can record in either colour, black and white, or infrared (night vision), so you can cater it to your preferences.
You don’t have to worry about anyone else having access to your camera or what it records. Eufy uses military-grade AES 256-bit data encryption, so the footage from your Eufy cameras is completely safe - it can only be accessed by logging in to your Eufy Security account.
There are no hidden payments with EufyCam - it’s free to set up and run, with no sign-up or subscription fees required to access all the features.
When it comes to security cameras, you don’t want to be hassled with charging the batteries every few weeks. The 1080p EufyCam promises 365 days of battery life - that’s right, a whole year will go by before you have to charge your wireless camera. The 2K EufyCam 2C can last 180 days without being charged.
With any of the Eufy products, you’re guaranteed an efficient and highly effective smart security system. They are suitable for any age and ability, making them the perfect modern-day security system.
At Hear for Less, we’re all about improving accessibility and making life easier for as many people as possible. This is why we’re proud to offer EufyCam and Eufy 2C security camera solutions on our website.
There’s something for everyone in our EufyCam range. The original EufyCam model is a classic - although more affordable, it doesn’t sacrifice quality. The more recent EufyCam 2C model was designed to have a more aesthetically pleasing appearance that will never go out of style.
Whichever Eufy security camera you choose, you can also save money by purchasing a Eufy Home Base Kit bundle with 2, 3, or 4 cameras.
Eufy security cameras can all be linked up to one app. With EufyCam, you can connect up to 16 individual cameras to one Eufy Home Base - so even if you have multiple cameras dotted around your home, you can monitor them from one place.
To protect your new cameras, we also offer a silicone cover for the 1080p EufyCam. Combined with the IP67 weather-resistance rating, your camera will always be safe, no matter what the weather.
If you have any queries about the Eufy security products we stock at Hear for Less, please get in touch on 1800 432 736 to speak directly to one of our team. You can also email us at sales@hearforless.com.au with any of your EufyCam questions.
You can easily download the Eufy Security app to your smartphone or tablet (not compatible with Windows or Kindle Fire) from the App Store or Google Play Store. You’ll find it under “eufySecurity” in the relevant app store – not to be confused with the “eufyHome” app for smart home products.
To use the app, your device’s operating system must be updated to at least Android 5.0 or iOS 10.2. It’s possible to install the Eufy app on a laptop or desktop computer, but it will have limited functions. We recommend using the app on your phone for full control over your Eufy devices.
It’s free to set up an account and use the app, with extra cloud storage available for an additional fee. The security app is compatible with a range of devices, not just the Home Base and EufyCammodels – you can also connect Eufy video doorbells and Eufy entry sensors, plus wired models like Indoor and Floodlight Cams. However, Eufy Pet Care and Eufy baby monitors are not compatible.
Whichever Eufy security devices you do set up within the app, you can easily monitor their status, change their settings, and receive notifications anytime and anywhere if something triggers your security devices. The app should also notify you automatically if it needs updating. You can add up to 5 guest accounts to share each device with family members, roommates, or colleagues.
If you have any problems with the Eufy app, there’s a built-in live chat feature where you can get help from Eufy’s customer support team. Alternatively, you can watch the “How to use Eufy Security App” video on the company’s YouTube channel for an introduction to the basics.
Eufy cameras can be either battery-powered or wired to a power source. Many people prefer to take advantage of Eufy’s long-lasting batteries and wireless range when setting up their security camera system. Depending on the model, they can last up to 180 or even 365 days on one charge.
When you first unbox your Eufy camera, it will come with an AC power cable to charge the battery. For the first charge, it can take 4 to 8 hours for the battery to reach 100% from zero. You can then get to work physically installing the cameras and setting up their Home Base connections.
Once installed and operative, you can monitor the battery life of each camera on your phone using the Eufy app. Battery life can vary depending on factors such as temperature, number of activations, and length of time recording. As a general guide, you should recharge when it gets to 10%.
You don’t have to remove the entire camera to do this – just detach the battery, open the plastic cover to access the charging port, and plug it into the Home Base or another power source. The LED indicator will be red during charging, then turn off when the battery has reached a full charge.
If you don’t have the original AC cable, you should be able to use any 5-9V/2A charger, including micro USB cables with the right connectors (NOT an iPhone cable – these are 5V/1A). You can check the progress of the camera battery by viewing the charge percentage in the mobile app.
Once charged, remember to replace the plastic cover over the charging port before reinstating the battery (this protects it from the elements). Never tamper with the battery housing or attempt to replace the lithium-ion battery – Eufy does not provide battery replacements because the lifespan of each battery is much longer than the lifespan of the actual camera, which is already extensive.
Eufy cameras are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, but not for installing inside and directing outside (e.g. through a window). Doing this will interfere with its motion detection.
Most people want security cameras outside to cover the area around their property. For this reason, the EufyCam 2C has an IP67 rating, meaning it can withstand dust and water bursts outdoors. If you have concerns about your EufyCam 1080P, you can purchase a weatherproof silicone cover.
Screw-mounting hardware is included with every device, ensuring that the camera is securely attached to the wall and is not easy to remove. Eufy security cameras can be mounted on almost any flat surface, such as a wall or ceiling, as long as you can install the screw-mount fittings.
You can connect up to 16 individual cameras to the Home Base at any one time. If you require more than this, you can have multiple base stations within one building, all controlled from the same account. Wherever you install your EufyCams, they must be within 20-30 feet of the central system.
Since the cameras must be connected to the internet to perform fully, you must set them up using either wireless (2.4GHz Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet cable) connections. The cameras can connect to the Home Base wirelessly, but the base station must be connected to the internet router by cable.
Factors such as the distance from the router and Home Base, the thickness of the walls, and other obstacles between the devices can interrupt the strength of the signal. You should consider these potential issues carefully when choosing where to install your Eufy security cameras.
